Homemade Lamb & Sweet Potato Dog Food Recipe

Vet-approved lamb & sweet potato dog food designed for sensitive stomachs. Gentle, hypoallergenic, and simple to prepare with a few well-tolerated ingredients.
Skillet or sauté pan
Steamer or saucepan with basket
Mixing bowl, spatula, knife & cutting board
- 1 lb ground lamb cooked, drained
- 1 cup sweet potato steamed, mashed
- 1/4 cup spinach optional, lightly steamed, chopped
- 1 tsp olive oil measured
- Calcium supplement vet-approved, as directed
Brown ground lamb in a nonstick skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
Steam sweet potato until fork-tender; mash smoothly.
(Optional) Lightly steam spinach; squeeze dry and chop finely.
Combine lamb, sweet potato, and spinach; add olive oil and calcium per label.
Mix well, cool to room temperature, and portion by weight.
• Daily amount: ~2–3% of body weight, split into 2 meals; adjust per activity and vet advice.
• Transition over 7–10 days for calmer digestion.
• Store airtight: refrigerate up to 3 days; freeze portions up to 2 weeks; thaw in fridge overnight.
• Keep seasonings minimal; avoid onion/garlic.
